🌎️ Out Of This World
Own A Piece of Space History
Why settle for ordinary when you can own a timepiece that made it to the moon? The Bulova Lunar Pilot is no replica—it’s a modern reissue of the watch that astronaut Dave Scott wore during the Apollo 15 mission. When NASA’s Omega broke, the Lunar Pilot stepped in, timing critical mission moments. Now, you can own that same reliability and heritage.
This watch packs a 262 kHz quartz movement, meaning it’s ultra-precise, even by today’s standards. You won’t just be wearing a watch; you’ll be sporting space-grade accuracy. The chronograph subdials add functionality for timing your own "missions," whether that’s your daily run or perfecting your BBQ grilling times.

Built with durability in mind, this watch is ready for any adventure—just as ready as it was for the moon. Its bold dial and sleek design mean it’ll look just as good with a suit as it will on a hiking trail. And with its affordable price, you won’t need to sell your house to feel like an astronaut.
Whether you're a history buff, a space geek, or just someone who appreciates a good story, the Bulova Lunar Pilot is a timeless (and out-of-this-world) choice.
📖 The Story
In 1971, while most watch brands were dreaming of space, Bulova actually made it there. The Bulova Lunar Pilot Chronograph was strapped to the wrist of astronaut Dave Scott during the Apollo 15 mission, becoming the only privately-owned watch to make it to the moon (because, apparently, NASA didn’t supply backup timepieces). |
To The Moon 🌕️
When Scott’s NASA-issued Omega broke, he pulled out his trusty Bulova and, in that moment, the Lunar Pilot cemented itself in horological history.
Now, the Lunar Pilot wasn’t just sitting around waiting for moon selfies—it was busy. The watch’s high-precision quartz movement helped keep time for crucial mission operations. And while Omega hogs the lunar watch spotlight with the Speedmaster, Bulova’s Lunar Pilot has its own chapter in the moon-landing saga, reminding us that underdog stories are always more fun.
The best part? Bulova brought this legend back to life with a modern reissue, so now you can own a slice of space history. The reissue packs a high-performance quartz movement (262 kHz, for those who like their accuracy rocket-grade) and keeps the iconic design with its bold dial, crisp chronograph subdials, and, of course, that moon-worthy durability. Oh, and the price won’t make you feel like you need to sell your house.
So, if you’re looking to channel your inner astronaut—or just need a backup in case your regular watch breaks on your next moonwalk—the Bulova Lunar Pilot is ready for lift-off.

Meet TimMeet Tim, a guy who watched Apollo 13 37 times and can name every astronaut to ever walk on the moon. His bookshelf? Half NASA history, half sci-fi novels. Tim wants the Bulova Lunar Pilot because, let’s face it, he’s secretly hoping someone asks him about it so he can launch into a mini TED Talk about how it saved the Apollo 15 mission. He’ll casually slip it into conversations at the office, just waiting for that perfect moment to flex his “did you know?” space knowledge. For Tim, wearing this watch isn’t just about telling time—it’s about subtly reminding people he knows things. Moon facts, to be specific. | Meet JakeMeet Jake, the weekend warrior who loves a rugged watch with a good backstory. He’s probably been on a few hikes, but most of his "adventures" are just getting through traffic. Jake buys the Bulova Lunar Pilot because, hey, if it can survive the moon, it can handle his slightly dramatic version of a coffee spill. He’s into function, but let's be real, he also enjoys saying, “Yeah, this is the same watch that went to space,” just before telling everyone how "down to earth" he is. |

Bulova makes some great watches and is a brand that I think is underrepresented in the watch-world. Have you ever head of the moon watch? Did you know this one went into space, too?
I am really digging this new format. I think it looks so much better than the old one and makes the newsletter flow very well.

1 Case height is the thickness of the watch.
2 Lug to lug measurement of a watch is the measurement in millimeters from the top-most extremity of the case lugs to the bottom (more info)
3 Strap width (also known as lug width) is the distance between the two lugs of the watch. The lugs are the part of the watch case in which the strap attaches. If you want to change straps, this number is important.
4 Crystal is the clear material through which you look into the watch. Think of it as the “glass” but it’s not always literally glass. (more info)
5 Movement is the mechanism that activates the watch hands and other complications. Automatic movements are powered by your movement, mechanical need you to wind it and quartz movements are battery operated. Each of these have specific “calibers” that work in different ways. Think of the caliber as the engine. Different cars have different engines.
6 Power reserve is the length of time a watch will stay powered/keep time without it being worn or wound. This time depends on the specific caliber of the movement. Many are 42 hours while others can last up to 80 hours.
