We talked about a lot over the last month.
Let’s recap…
Monthly Recap
The Main Thing
Previous Posts
We talked about a lot during the month. It’s hard to believe that April has come and gone. Is it feeling like Spring where you are? The snow is still around here in Alaska!
Whiteout Conditions
I say it over and over again. I LOVE WHITE DIAL WATCHES.
This month, we talked about three specifically.
They were:
Cristopher Ward C65 Aquitaine Automatic
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M
Rolex Explorer II
Do you have a favorite white-dial watch?

Military Grade
The military has a long history with watches. This post gives a brief overview of how watches came to be used in the military.
Many countries across the world have ties to different watches.

Some of those watches are:
Omega Seamaster 300-meter
Marathon Navigator
Luminox
Hamilton Khaki Field
Do you have any military-style (field) watches in your collection?
Status: It’s Complicated
And finally, we talked about a few common watch complications. There are so many more, but we started with three.
The three we discussed were:
Date
Chronograph
GMT
I NEED the date on almost all my watches because I always forget the date. The GMT function is helpful to remember what time it is where my parents live. I don't have any practical reason for a chronograph. Yet...
Do you have a favorite or non-negotiable complication that you need on your watches?

Yes, I’d offer $3,400, knowing that I’m going to have it serviced and professionally polished. I would not pay more than $3,500 for it.

Because You Asked
Q&A
Q: How do you personally decide which watches to feature in your newsletter, and what aspects do you prioritize?
A: I sit down and write subject lines that I think will interest you and that you’ll like. I spend hours on subject lines. I take it seriously. Then, I rotate the rest of the content. You may have noticed a trend by now. Each week of the month has its certain sections. I set it up that way to help organize my ideas. It’s what I’m sticking with for now!
Q: What is your favorite aspect of running Own The Watch, and what keeps you motivated to continue producing content?
A: To be honest, seeing the number of subscribers grow. Additionally, I can see how many subscribers actually open the email to read the newsletter. If some numbers are lower than others, I spend extra time thinking about what it happened. Also, I love writing and love watches. OTW is a great way to combine the two!
Q: So Wrong It’s Right (2007) or Nothing Personal (2009)? (All Time Low albums)
A: So Wrong It’s Right, but both are incredible albums that are in my rotation. You should listen to them both!
