Fun fact. The Tissot brand was founded in 1853 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by two entrepreneurs, Charles-Félicien Tissot and Charles-Emile Tissot. From the beginning, they focused on producing precise watches with high quality.

TISSOT PRX POWERMATIC 80 ($725)
Reddit Convinced me that I need to add a Tissot to my watch lineup
I don’t didn’t understand the hype about Tissot. I see them everywhere.
Example: I was in Norway a while back and a Norweigan soldier was stuck in his truck on the side of the road. As a “helpful” (not really) American, I stopped to see if he was okay. He was fine but more importantly, he was wearing a Tissot PRX. Hmmmm….
Then, I started noticing them everywhere. I mean, wtf?
Still baffled, I do what any logical, mature person does. I posted to Reddit. Specifically, I pulled a Jerry Seinfeld. "What's the deal with Tissot?"
I was blown away. Tissot has an insanely loyal following, And apparently, they also make incredible watches.
Here are some of my findings:
It's an affordable and easily available Swiss watch
Walk into a store and buy one (unlike some brands…*cough*)
PRX Powermatic 80 - only $725 USD
Comfortable price points-gateway to luxury
A great starter watch to “try out” watches
Don’t be afraid to wear it
Beat it to hell, it’s not invaluable
It has a sapphire crystal
Usually a premium feature
Kevin O'Leary (Shark Tank) said they're the best Swiss watch at this price point
He’s a trusted watch snob
Looks like Audemars Piguet
AP is a super-expensive brand
The post was filled with Redditors talking about their favorite Tissot models. The enthusiasm was real. Almost intoxicating. I could go on and on but it's best to read the post for yourself.
